FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain inventory control, schedule and initiate requisitions for parts and services of the Maintenance Department.  Incumbent will work under moderate supervision.  Responsibilities captioned below are considered essential job functions:

• Adhere to established safety procedures and 5 “ S ” standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain the cycle) required to perform daily duties in this position, including the proper techniques used in lifting/moving of parts
• Review current stock and usage before initiating requisition for repair
• Initiate purchasing requisitions by obtaining necessary information to place an order (under extreme situations, a requisition number may be used as a purchase order number, until the purchase number is assigned by the Purchasing Department).
• Contact vendors to attain the best quote and delivery information; contacts suppliers to initiate requisitions for parts to be sent out for repairs
• Monitor the repair process and notifies appropriate management if the part is to be repaired, scrapped, or replaced
• Maintain work orders and labor hours information; reconcile work orders with actual work performed; enters data into the computer and closes work orders  
• Generate the delinquent analysis report on a periodic basis to determine status of the purchase orders
• Maintain the inventory control database; verifies part availability and discrepancies via the system
• Evaluate part usage history and eliminate obsolete inventory as needed
• Accepts parts and supplies for parts; documents and verifies the accuracy of part number and quantity ordered  
• Systematically assign and document storage location for received item
• Perform trend analysis and cycle counts to support the purchasing needs
• Operate office equipment as needed, including fax, telephone, adding machine, computer, bar coder, printer, etc.
• Other duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• PC, typing, communication skills, ability to read, write and comprehend instruction
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend, walk, reach
• Ability to lift items up to 30lbs without assistance

• Knowledge of computerized maintenance software systems, i.e. ELKE/MAPICS
• Knowledge of shop mathematics


Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:  

General shop and machine tool noise, dirt, grease, etc. Normal working position is standing or walking through the plant. Some repetitive lifting/moving is required, depending on the daily assignment or tasks being performed. May work from a ladder and utilize steps for lower level storage area. The weight can range, therefore proper lifting/moving techniques, i.e. use of a crane, are required in excess of 30 lbs.  
 

EDUCATION & MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
H.S. Diploma or equivalent,
One year experience working in a manufacturing environment
